CHP STILL LOOKING FOR DRIVER, VEHICLE IN HIT-AND-RUN IN TWENTYNINE PALMS LAST WEEK

The California Highway Patrol still has not located the vehicle or driver suspected of driving over a man’s legs in Twentynine Palms last week. Last Thursday, February 20, 22-year-old Trever Evans was underneath his vehicle checking for possible damage on the right shoulder of Meldora Avenue, north of Indian Trail in Twentynine Palms about 2:50 p.m. While he was under his vehicle, a passing SUV ran over his legs that were sticking out from under the vehicle. The SUV is described as a newer model, small, sporty, and black with unknown dealer license plates. The SUV continued south on Meldora Avenue to the stop sign and turned westbound on Indian Trail. Trever Evans was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with major injuries to both legs. Anyone with information on the vehicle and driver should call the CHP office at 760-366-3707.
