After 29 years of service with the California Highway Patrol, including the last 3 ½ years here in the Morongo Basin, Lieutenant Eric Robles is retiring effective today. Robles, the commander of the Morongo Basin CHP station, said he has never experienced such strong community support as he has here in the Morongo Basin. In addition, he said the relationship between the CHP and the Sheriff’s Department is top notch and the two organizations work hand-in-hand.
