The Brews, Blooms, and Barbeque event raised $12,000, exceeding expectations by more than 50 percent.

Unity Home and Reach Out Morongo Basin each received a $4,000 check from Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Thursday night.

In addition, Morongo Basin Haven, Landers Elementary School, Morongo Basin Ambulance, and the Rotary high school scholarship program received $1000.

The Brews, Blooms, and Barbecue was a collaborative effort with Joshua Tree Brewery, Gubler Orchids, Bruce’s Place and Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary.

Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary President Kristine Perrance gave thanks to McDonald’s, Patti Brown the Loan Lady, and Pacific Western Bank who were strong supporters of the event.
