The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a bizarre assault in Yucca Valley Friday afternoon. According to a Sheriff’s report, a man riding a Yamaha motorcycle stopped for a traffic light on eastbound Highway 62 at Old Woman Springs Road about 1:30 p.m. The driver next to him in the number 2 lane was upset that the motorcycle rider had stopped on the yellow line and was revving his engine next to him in his Hyundai car. When the light turned green, the two men drove away, with the driver of the Hyundai allegedly driving his car into the motorcycle’s lane in an attempt to run him off the road. The report states the motorcycle rider kicked at the driver’s side car door. When the two men got to Hilton Avenue, the vehicle drive got out of his car and pushed the rider off his motorcycle, at which time, the rider got up and punched the driver in the head, causing him to lose consciousness. The district attorney’s office will review the case to determine if charges should be filed against either of the men.
