BATTLE OF THE CAN FOOD DRIVE TONIGHT

As the annual cross-basin football rivalry plays out on the field, The 29 Palms High School Interact Club, a Rotary sponsored Community service club, will be collecting food for the less fortunate. Reporter David Knutson reminds you bring food for the “Battle of the Can.”
Tonight is the annual Battle of the Bell Football game, the biggest high school football game here in the Morongo Basin. As a part of the festivities, the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club is collecting food for their Thanksgiving food drive that helps provide Thanksgiving dinner for 500 local families. They are calling this “Battle of the Can” and challenge the community to bring nonperishable food items to donate at the gate. The goal for the night is to collect 1 ton—2,000 pounds—of food! Come support your football team and the community.
