BASEBALL SEASON UNDERWAY AT TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL

Baseball season is in full swing at our local high school. ROP Broadcasting student Caleb Roy asked his coach how the season is going…….
Today I interviewed high school coach TJ Stanford and asked him how the season started off.
“The season started off really well so far, we’ve won some close games, fought hard on some other games, lost some close games, but this has been the best start we’ve had since I’ve been coaching here.”
So far this season they have faced some tough challenges. Who else on the schedule would be a tough opponent?
“Pretty much every team on our schedule is a tough challenge, there’s no easy game, we have to come out and play hard in every game and hopefully we come out on top.”
There are some pretty good players this season. Who are some of the key players to their success?
“Some key players are senior Eric Jordan who’s got four wins pitching on the season. Senior Kyle Holt who’s been solid behind the plate. Junior Derick Sutherland who’s done well at the plate and on the field. Junior Sam Eggers who’s been a good addition to this year’s squad.”
The team started with a 7 and 5 record. How does he think the rest of the season will go?
“I think if we come out and play hard every day, that we will like the results; we just have to continue to work each day to get a little bit better.”
