AUDITIONS SEPTEMBER 19TH FOR “A CHRISTMAS STORY” AT THEATRE 29

Auditions are set at Theatre 29 for the hit comedy “A Christmas Story.” Director Eric Ross will cast the beloved Christmas classic September 19 at 6 p.m. Reporter Rebecca Havely has the cast break down…
“A Christmas Story” follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. This beloved story is based on the book by Jean Shepard. Director Eric Ross has pre-cast the roles of the Mother, Father and Teacher but still has many roles available. They include: Ralph, (the adult version of Ralphie; he’s 20-40). He narrates the play as story teller. Ralphie Parker is 9 years old but older boys will be considered if they look the part. Randy is Ralphie’s little brother. Flick is Ralphie’s classmate and plays a second role as Desperado 1. Another classmate is Schwartz who doubles as Desperado 2. Scut Farkas is a bully who also plays Black Bart. Female classmates Esther Jane Alberry and Helen Weathers will also be cast. Come prepared to move, you will be reading from the show’s script. Auditions are Monday, September 19 at 6 p.m. at Theatre 29, 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.
“A Christmas Story” will run weekends from November 18 through December 17. Tickets are from $8 to $15 and are available now on line at theatre29.org or by calling the box office at 760-361-4151.
