ARGUMENT LEADS TO A STABBING IN YUCCA VALLEY

An argument over money led to a stabbing in Yucca Valley Sunday evening. According to a Sheriff’s report, Augustine Sanchez, 60, was in a garage in the 57200 block of Old Haggard Road in Yucca Valley about 6:30 p.m. when Sanchez accused the victim of taking an unspecified amount of money from him. The two men began fighting Sanchez allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. During the fight, Sanchez sustained a blow to the head. The victim was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs and is in stable condition. Augustine Sanchez was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon resulting in gross bodily injuries, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
