APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED FOR NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

Copper Mountain College partners with the Hi-Desert Medical Center in training students to become nurses. After graduation, many of the new grads go to work at the hospital in Joshua Tree. The Hi-Desert Memorial Health Care District Foundation is accepting applications for the Martie Avels Nursing Scholarship which provides for courses and books for up to two years. The annual scholarship is awarded to a student who agrees to work at Hi-Desert Medical Center for two years upon successful completion of state nursing boards. Interested applicants can obtain the guidelines and applications at hdmc.org, at the Foundation office at 57045 Yucca Trail in Yucca Valley, the Health Sciences office at the College, at the Hospital’s human resources office. Completed applications must be postmarked no later June 21.
