Since 1941 the Twentynine Palms Weed Show has been an annual tradition for local desert dwellers. The Weed Show is sponsored by the Twentynine Palms Historical Society and participation is open to anyone who puts together a composition of dried desert weeds and objects found in the desert, either natural or man-made. Even if you don’t have the competitive spirit, come by the Old School House Museum this Saturday or Sunday and check out the colorful and quirky creations. Drop off for contestants is Friday, November 1, from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, November 2, from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. The Weed Show opens for public viewing at noon and closes at 4 p.m. On Sunday, November 3, weed show viewing opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m.
