AN ARREST FOR DRUGS AND WEAPONS IN LANDERS

A Rialto man, suspected of assault, was arrested Tuesday in Landers after Sheriff’s deputies found drugs and a weapon in his vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were sent to the area of Goat Mountain Road and Margarita Street in Landers about 3 p.m. Steven Mixco, 29, of Rialto, was identified as the suspect, and deputies located Mixco driving a vehicle in the 58800 block of Napa Road in Landers. Mixco is on felony probation, and during a search of the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine packaged for sales and a cane sword. Steve Mixco was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine for sales and possession of a prohibited weapon, and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. Mixco is being held on a no-bail probation violation hold.
