The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education will hold an open house Wednesday, February 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for its new Academy of College and Career Excellence. The Academy will use space in the Yucca Valley Town Center Mall to train students and community members for careers in fields such as robotics, child development, culinary arts and pharmacy technology. The school district plans to partner with local government, the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center and the Hi-Desert Healthcare District. In addition, Copper Mountain College will provide the computer lab for online courses and assessment. The academy will be able to accommodate up to 150 students. The open house will be in the Town Center Mall, 57725 29 Palms Highway, Suite 403, in Yucca Valley.
