A REMARKABLE SEASON AND ERA FOR 29 PALMS HIGH SCHOOL GIRL’S BASKETBALL

By Coach Tim Stanford

Friday February 9, the 29 Palms High School Girls’ Basketball team won their final league game of the season at Rancho Mirage 78-27.

That win brings the program’s league winning streak to 81 games. The last loss the program suffered in league was 51-49 to Yucca Valley on January 11, 2011. Coach Stanford would like to thank coach Luis Barraza for 15 years of loyal friendship, lots of fulfilling hard work, many miles on the road, and lots of laughs. Coach Stanford would also like to say, on behalf of the coaching staff, that we have been blessed to have the support of three strong principals during those 15 years: Amy Woods, Justin Monical, and Mike Ruggiero. Finally and most importantly, the coaching staff would like to thank all of the girls who have made this success possible. The coaching staff has been honored to be a small part of so many young lady’s success over many years. Thank you girls, the tears of joy and love have been priceless.

This year’s team is excited and ready to compete in the Division 2 CIF playoffs starting on Thursday February 15th at home.
