A HUGE WIN FOR YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON OPENER

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan Football Varsity team got off to a great start Friday night against the Saints of Xavier Prep winning 51-13. Coach Tim Cannavo said offense, defense, and special teams all contributed points. The offense totaled 458 yards, 369 rushing and 89 passing. Xavier Prep was only able to scrape up 212 yards against the tough Trojan defense. There were 273 yards on returns for the night and three specialty touchdowns. Logan Vallo had an interception and punt return for touchdowns and Karver Murphy returned a fumble for a touchdown. Shayne Saiza and Gabe Sosa had rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Bradley Soares threw two touchdowns, one to Shayne Saiza and the other to Nathan Rantzow.
The Trojan JV fell in a close game 7-0. Next week is a bye week for the Trojans.
