The High Fire in nearby Lucerne Valley had grown to 100 acres and was considered 45 percent contained by 7 a.m. this morning, according to Cal Fire. The fire was reported at 3:57 p.m. Sunday and soon after evacuations were ordered for the area south of Highway 18 and east of High Road in Lucerne Valley. The evacuation orders were lifted about 10 p.m. last night. CalFire reports that forward progress of the fire has been stopped. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
