About 2:20 p.m., Stephanie Brophy, 38, of Yucca Valley, was in her 2004 Nissan and had stopped at the westbound traffic light at La Contenta Road. Behind Brophy was Francisco Rodriguez, 27, of Palm Springs in a 2005 Dodge. After the light turned green, Rodriguez, expecting Brophy to start driving, drove his Dodge into the back of Brophy’s Nissan at about 10 miles per hour. Stephanie Brophy was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center with a complaint of pain.
