8 CITED FOR PROVIDING ALCOHOL TO MINORS IN SHERIFF’S STING OPERATION

Eight people were cited in Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Twentynine Palms Friday, accused of purchasing alcohol or tobacco for minors. During a shoulder-tap sting operation, minors, under the supervision of Sheriff’s deputies, visited liquor stores and retail establishments that sell alcohol and asked people to buy alcohol for them. Arrests were made in the 58100 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley; at Park Boulevard and 29 Palms Highway in Joshua Tree; and in Twentynine Palms, at Ocotillo Avenue and the highway, West Court and the highway, Tamarisk Avenue and the highway; Palo Verde and the highway; Ocotillo and Gorgonio Avenues, and Cactus Drive and Adobe Road. All suspects were issued a citation with a date to appear in court.
