Tonight is the 50th annual Battle of the Bell, when the Yucca Valley High School Trojan football team will travel to Twentynine Palms to play their cross-basin rivals, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats. At stake is the Kiwanis Club Bell, which has been won by the Twentynine Palms Wildcats 31 out of 49 years. The winner of Friday’s game will move on to the CIF southern section play-offs. Kick off for the varsity game is 7 p.m. at Tom Nicoll Field in Twentynine Palms. The junior varsity game starts at 4 p.m. Fans are urged to arrive early.
