24 AIRPLANES LAND AT TWENTYNINE PALMS AIRPORT SATURDAY WITH TOYS FOR TOTS

The normally quiet Twentynine Palms airport welcomed 24 airplanes Saturday, led by Santa Claus, when a group of pilots flew planes full of donated toys from Redlands to Twentynine Palms for children in need. The planes took off from the Redlands Municipal Airport early Saturday, December 2, to deliver about 2,500 toys to the Twentynine Palms Airport for the U.S. Marines Reserve Unit as part of their annual Toys for Tots toy drive. The Redlands Pilots Association held its third annual “Stuff a Plane with Toys for Tots” campaign kickoff November 4 at the Redlands airport. Toys and funds were collected for the drive through Friday, December 1, including 10 bicycles and about $1,180 in monetary donations.
