Four generations of Yucca Valley’s Hardesty family judged the entries at the 20th annual Yucca Valley light parade, held Saturday in Old Town Yucca Valley. Prizes were awarded to JT Glass for most humorous; Boy Scout Pack 903 for Best Spirit; La Contenta Middle School for best costumes; and Sandy Paws Dog Groomers for best animal entry. Burrtec Waste won for best use of lights; Southern California Edison won for best music. The Rotary Choice Award went to Yucca Mesa Elementary, and Pride of the Parade went to Yucca Valley Cheer. More than 350 children visited with Santa and enjoyed a puppet show after the parade at the Hi-Desert Water District offices. The parade was put on by the Yucca Valley Rotary Club.
