YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ARSON IN YUCCA VALLEY FIRE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday, accused of arson. Just after 3 a.m. Thursday morning, firefighters were called to an apartment fire in the 56200 block of Papago Trail in Yucca Valley. The caller said they could see smoke. Firefighters entered the apartment to find a first-floor room and its contents on fire. No one was home in the apartment at the time of the fire. About 10 a.m., deputies arrested Robert Villareal, 25, at the scene of the blaze for investigation of arson. Robert Villareal was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $250,000.

YUCCA VALLEY ACCUSED OF BEING IN POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE

A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Thursday, accused of being in possession of stolen property. Deputies were called to the 56400 block of Carlyle Drive in Yucca Valley about 11:30 a.m. When deputies arrived, they determined that at least one of the vehicles at the scene had been reported stolen. Kimberly Bejarano, 40, was arrested for investigation of being in possession of a stolen vehicle. Kimberly Bejarano was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $50,000.

MARINES PARTICIPATE IN MILITARY EXERCISES ON COMBAT CENTER

Marines and sailors from around the Marine Corps are participating in a Service Level Training Exercise at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms through November 25. SLTE is a series of separate exercises designed to prepare Marines for operations around the globe by increasing their ability to operate and conduct offensive and defensive combat operations. There are three sublevel training events: Integrated Training Exercise, Adversary Force Exercise, and Mountain Training Exercise. These exercises prepare US and guest armed forces for the culminating event, the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Warfighting Exercise. TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED FOR CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested, accused of having an unlicensed gun in his vehicle. About 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, deputies pulled over a vehicle near Onaga Trail and Jemez Trail in Yucca Valley for having an expired vehicle registration. During a search of the vehicle, Akili Williams, 19, admitted to having a gun in the vehicle. The deputy found an unregistered, loaded Glock 30 hidden under a shirt under the front passenger seat. Akili Williams was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000.

NO INJURIES IN ROLL-OVER CRASH IN YUCCA VALLEY

No one was injured in a roll-over crash on Highway 62 in Yucca Valley Saturday, October 31. The Sheriff’s Department says the unidentified driver fell asleep as the vehicle was traveling eastbound on the highway near Sage Avenue about 3:15 a.m. The 2013 Kia Sorrento SUV left the road, struck a traffic sign, and rolled over.
