29 PALMS MAN, 72, ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF MULTIPLE CHILD MOLESTATION

A 72-year-old Twentynine Palms man has been arrested, accused of molesting three minors under the age of 14.

Tuesday, February 11, detectives from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant in the 72600 block of Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms after a report of continuous lewd and lascivious acts involving three minors under the age of 14. The investigation revealed the three victims were family members of Gary Shannon, a 72-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms. The victims were between the ages of eight and 12 years old, and the abuse occurred between 2005 and 2014.

Gary Shannon was located at his residence and arrested; he was booked into West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of a $350,000.00 bail. Today, we’re in Yucca Valley for a sneak peek of one stand-out property. Cheyenne’s Shabby-Chic She Shed is the home of Cheyenne Bonnell. TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN FOUND WITH STOLEN PICKUP, ARRESTED

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday after he was found with a stolen pick-up truck. Deputies received a tip about a stolen vehicle at a home in the 73800 block of Crestview Drive in Twentynine Palms and went to the home at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. Outside the home they saw a stolen 2005 GMC pick-up truck in the driveway and called in members of the county auto theft task force who served a search warrant on the property. At the home was Jeffrey Brown, 40. After an investigation, Jeffrey Brown was arrested for investigation of being in possession of stolen property, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000. 

3RD ANNUAL FRINGE FEST IN NEW LOCATION, SEEKING ACTS

Hi-Def Fringe is taking applications for acts for its third annual fringe festival and announces multiple new venues for this year’s event. Reporter Rebecca Havely has all the details…

The online application process opens February 15 for the third annual Hi-Desert Fringe Fest. Co-producers Miri Hunter and Ann Van Haney are excited to announce that the festival is moving to multiple venues across the city of Twentynine Palms. The fest will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 12 through 14.  The fest features performances, workshops, special sessions with industry professionals, one person shows and small ensemble performance groups. YUCCA VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER ADOPTIONS $20 ON VALENTINES DAY

The Yucca Valley Animal Shelter is offering residents a very furry Valentine’s Day with reduced adoption fees of $20 for both dogs and cats. All adoption fees include spaying or neutering and all vaccinations. The Yucca Valley Animal Shelter, located on Malin Way, is open Tuesday through Saturday noon to 5 p.m.
