1 SERIOUS INJURY IN LANDERS ROLL-OVER CRASH THURSDAY

UPDATED Feb. 9; Daniel Haverty was not transported for injuries in the crash.

Updated 9:30 a.m. with additional information.

Two people were injured—one seriously—in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Landers Thursday. The CHP says about 1 p.m., Daniel Haverty, 24, of Landers, was driving a 2004 For Mustang, eastbound on Reche Road, east of Sage Avenue. After Haverty passed a vehicle that was in front of him, he made an unsafe turning movement and struck the raised embankment on the south side of Reche Road. The Mustang overturned multiple times. Haverty’s passenger, 25-year-old Martha Villareal of Landers, was not wearing her seatbelt and was thrown from the car. Villareal was flown by Mercy Air to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with traumatic injuries. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
